Customer questions & answers
Question: I live in KS and we can have huge snow storms. Will the plastic hold up under a foot of snow? Thanks
Answer: Hi Jane, we live just outside New York City and have already experienced a winter season with more than a foot of snow. This solarium is not called an all-season solarium for nothing! It fared very well. We have a fire pit inside and spend cold snowy days very comfortably toasting marshmallows. Rest assured, a foot of snow is no problem at all.Question: what is the roof made of??Answer: Be very careful, instructions clearly tell you a certain side must be facing the sun and have stickers identifying each side and stating do not take off sticker until installing, our installer who peeled off most of the stickers and were putting them up not knowing (I could not tell the difference by looking or touching the polycarbonate). We still have a 1/2 built gazebo ruining our patio that Amazon has been giving us the runaround, many of the screws have been stripped out, installers kept complaining how things didn't light up and had to use a drill to force in (instructions clearly say hand tighten) been 1/2 built now for over 5 weeks, Amazon finally said they wont charge for the installers, but still have a damaged 1/2 built gazebo on my deckQuestion: can you temporarily remove a couple side panels after building it? I want to build it before putting the hot tub in it.Answer: Well technically you could...but consider if the unit was completely assembled you'd have to take sections of the roof panel and rafters apart in order to slide the connection pieces back up and out...the connectors are as long as the panels are and slide in from the top...I assembled my 12x18 around the spa with no problem...I had access to a couple of furniture dollies to put under the spa and left the spa on the dollies during assembly...this allowed me to move the spa from side to side as I needed for room. Also note, as other mentioned the hardest part was the center roof support, I had access to a drywall hoist which made this job a complete solo accomplishment (including pouring the 20x14 cement pad)...and I'm 60 years young...2 days to assemble...I will also say having a LEVEL base makes the assembly super easy...the majority of the panel connectors literally slid in by gravity, I probably spent 30 minutes on the first one assuming I was doing something wrong...but the base was perfectly level and once the connector is in the grooves and starts going on they just slid down...a few I had to give a little push, but at no time did I ever need a rubber malletQuestion: is there 1 door on the front and 1 door on the side..thus making it having 2 doors?
Answer: There are two doors - one that fits the long side and one that fits the short side (length and breadth). You can decide which side you wish to place them. Once you have assembled all the wall pieces you can then decide where you wish to have your access. The answer is YES - THERE ARE TWO DOORS. -
